This publication " Guide for Connection of High Voltage Electrical Installations" (the Guide) has been prepared by representatives of the electricity supply industry (ESI) through the Electricity Engineers' Association NZ (Inc.) (EEA).

It is intended to provide information, advice and comment that will assist the network companies in the industry to assess the safety of a new or refurbished high voltage electrical installation for which an application has been made by a consumer for its initial connection to a distribution network and subsequent livening from the network. It also refers to the use of periodic safety checks to assess the acceptability of the continued connection to the network of such an installation.
