The role of a Trainee / Junior Arborist

As a Trainee/Junior Arborist, you’ll ensure the safety and integrity of our electrical structures on the network.  Your primary focus will be tree maintenance, powerline management, as well as some private customer work.  Your craftsmanship and dedication will directly impact the reliability of our electrical network and the safety of our community.

You’ll work alongside our experienced team, participating in tree maintenance activities throughout our service area.  Your role will also involve proactive vegetation management to minimise potential hazards and disruptions to our electrical service.  In addition to routine maintenance, you can assist with emergency response efforts, including tree-related outages and storm damage.

About you

To excel in this role, you’ll need the following:

  • Current driver’s licence (ideally class 2 but not essential)
  • Level 3 Arboriculture qualification or working towards achieving it.
  • Physically fit to be able to perform the duties of an arborist.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills.
  • The ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic and reliability.
  • The ability to work well as a team, contributing positively to group efforts.
  • A commitment to prioritise safety and adhere to safety protocols rigorously.
